  1. My father-in-law and I have been Elliott fans for many many years. It is hard to watch a NASCAR race today without Awesome Bill in the lineup. I have been watching Chase progress and know he will be a superstar of the sport. With the support of his parents, how can he go wrong.

Cindy, thanks for all you do and God Bless you and your family.

  2. Who is the # 55?

  3. MWR used to have that number then I think Phil Parsons had that number last if you’re talking about cup racing.

  4. Cindy,
The 55 is the car that Waltrip and Martin are splitting next season.

  5. I wish Bill and Mark would split the races in that car. 

  6. Jayski.com says that Mark Martin will be in the #55 Aarons car for 25 races in 2012 for MWR. Michael Waltrip is slated to run some races in the #55 also.

  7. Michael is slated to run 3 of the plate races and Kentucky. This leaves 7 races with an unknown driver…

  8. Could not find a better driver for those 7 races…Bill should have 25 and Mark 7. This rumor would give me 7 reasons to watch cup this year…very frustrating!

  9. Come on Cindy give us just a little hope!!

  10. Hey Shannon, wonder who will have the last “cuss” word before Finch goes down. Lol. Will it be Nick, Finch or Kurt???

  11. Those 7 races in the 55 car might be unsponsored and it might be parked.

  12. I got to thinking about one thing. If Mark and Waltrip are going to split the 55 it will sure have to be different cars. If the seat, pedels and so on are set for Waltrip, Mark would have to have pedal extensions and 3 bed pilliows so he could drive it. Not going to be an easy jump out and jump in situation.

  13. Dale, I’m sure the races Waltrip will be in are the plate races. Those will be totally different cars than the cars Martin will be driving.

  14. Joe,

Only time the cuss words will stop is when they’re taking a breath….. I think they all need JESUS!

    Go #9

  15. why wouldnt T Stewart get ABE to drive the shootout in Danicas car? That makes
alot of sense over here. If nuthin but to shake it down

  16. I know buddyroe, I was just joking and making light of how different the cars will have to be. Especially if Martin uses some of last years cars, there will be quite a bit of adjusting. LOL And yes Waltip is supposted to run three plate races and Kentucky according to his press release several weeks ago.

  17. Dale that’s funny. Mikey is only 2ft taller than Mark. Shannon you’re exactly right.

  18. MWR web site has schedule to early June, only open races are Bristol & Martinsville to that point. I figure Mickey might run DW for Waltrip family publicity (you know they both luv it!). Jayski says Mickey in 5 races but only list 4, so if 5 is true there are only 6 races for other people. So I conclude, I doubt Bill will be in it…hopefully I will be wrong.

  19. Maybe they could get Aaron’s to move schedule around with Mark so Bill could run Pocono, Chicagoland and win at the Brickyard!!

  20. Fingers are crossed.

  21. Sad, Sad day in Daytona. First day of cars on track and no “AwesomeBill from Dawsonville”

  22. I would like to see Bill drive the 10 car when Danica isn’t. No MWR. Other than that I would like to see Bill race against Chase in a couple of Arca races. That would be fun to see. Is Terry Labonte racing Daytona? One more think I’m glad Bill is not with those guys at Phoenix Racing. It was hard to even listen to the scanner. I agree Joe. Who’s going to get the last cuss word in.

  23. Hi Cindy, we are planning on going to Salen April 29th. Will you and Bill be there with Chase?

  24. I am glad Bill not with Phoenix and also cannot understand why SHR/Hendrick is not thinking. I sent e-mails months back to all the parties (sure they never actually read themselves) and been hoping & praying we would all hear something. Seems so obvious a solution to have Bill run the remaining 26 races. I still have hope, dillusional I quess:)

  25. Bill & Chase should go visit Hendrick at Daytona on saturday. Go watch the going ons and get Bill’s face in the garage. Maybe someone (Tony) will start thinking.

  26. I would like to see bill run atlanta one more time in a hendricks prepared car

  27. We should be yes.

  28. Awesome Cindy, looking foward to seeing Chase race for the first time. If the opportunity is there it would be great to get a photo with you all. I know that lots of folks want the same thing. But, I’m hopeful :)

  29. AS I SEE IT RIGHT NOW IS TO SEE BILL RACE AGAIN HE WILL HAVE TO RUN HIS OWN DEAL WITH MAYBE SOME HELP FROM HENDRICK.THERE IS KNOW ONE GOING TO OFFER HIM A RIDE FOR WHAT REASON I DONT UNDERSTAND.BILL WANTS TO RACE SO HE COULD RUN A FEW RACES FROM HIS OWN SHOP.I KNOW HE COULD GET THE FUNDING HE IS GARANTEED 250.000 FOR RACING THE DAYTONA 500 FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY I WOULD FIND A CAR FROM RICK AND GO TO DAYTONA I KNOW IF BILL WOULD ASK RICK HE WOULD BE MORE THAN GLAD TO HELP. BILL COULD EVEN ASK JOE NEMECHECK HE HAS SOME PRETTY GOOD CARS AT TIMES. HE ALWAYS MAKES THE RACES.BILL PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT .THANKS CINDY FOR ALL THE NEWS.HAPPY 2012 MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY.

  30. Well maybe we will get some good news on Bill one day coming soon. I am always optimistic.

  31. Glad David Ragan found a ride…now we only need a ride for Awesome Bill!!

  32. can jay robinson be competetive in cup?

  33. I get the feeling Bill doesn’t want to ask anybody for a ride. Cindy said something about a year ago about “they know where to find Bill.” Not a quote, but something close. He doesn’t need to go find a ride. “They” know he is available. It may be time to give up on a Cup ride. I know in my heart if Bill asked someone to help with a ride, it would be done. I think he is not going to ask. His record is proven. He will not “ask” for a ride. We, his fans, wish he would, though. We will have to hope he and Chase race against each other in ARCA, Trucks, Nationwide, and Cup (in that order) at some point.

  34. Cindy,
Will Chase run the #9 in ARCA? It was our ARCA number, we changed to it from the #51 on our T-Birds because of Bill. Our team won a couple races with it so it be very cool to see Chase listed with wins in the #9. Hopefully many wins! I may have to break out my old uniform shirt, LOL (wonder if it still fits)
As for Bill, I join everybody in wishing Bill had a ride for Daytona. But, my main wish is he is happy in his life and knows how much he has meant to so many.

  35. Yes-#9!

  36. Awesome!!!

  37. Curious if anyone else is planning on going to Salem?

  38. Hey Cindy I know you can probably only say so much but has anyone reached out to Bill at all in the off season be it competitive or not. Just trying to get an idea if he has even been contacted. I know Bill will be happy whether he drives again or not and I could live with that as well. Still its a shame that man can drive a race car like no one I have ever seen. People like him Cale and David are in a class of their own how they drove race cars. Like I have said before watching chase run has been a load of fun. Can’t wait to see him in some Arca races. I’m also hoping Bill will get a that phone call I know he would like to get. Thanks for keeping us up to date as always.

  39. If he had and it was not a competitive team he would not be interested at this point in his career. This is media week and I know you all will be watching and hoping and I don’t want to get your hopes up but if Bill just ran one race this year would you be happy or disappointed? And would it matter what race it was?

  40. The right answer is happy. But honestly disappointed.

It would be different if i didnt whole heartedly believe Mr Bill can still win races and win championships given the right equipment. I realize everything has to end but when it
comes to my childhood hero its just hard to except.

Go get’m Mr Bill ….you are the man!

  41. Cindy…just one race…one GOOD run would make me happy. It is dissapointing to know that in Bill’s last full race he ran -8 at Bristol. I would love to see him in a competive ride at Darlington/Atlanta/Michigan/Brickyard. Maybe the 55???

  42. I’d be happy if the AWESOME one ran just one race because it would mean getting to watch him at least one more time. Surely would want more than that but watching Bill in a good car would sure make me happy. Wouldn’t matter which race either, but sure hope it would be on super speedway.

  43. I don’t care if Bill only wants to run one race, or all 36 races, we would all be pulling for him! I’d be extremely happy with one race!!!!!

  44. Cindy if Bill can get on a track and he wants to do it I’m all for it. You say one race….does that mean he is being offered a competitive ride for one race? You don’t know how badly I’d take that in a heart beat. I would prefer it be a place that plays to Elliott’s strength’s but I’ve never turned down the chance to watch him race even in bad equipment. When I was asking you earlier about a non-competitive team I was just curious if anyone had tried to contact him at all. I agree 110% with him on not wanting to ride around in junk. The man deserves better at this point in his career. I can’t speak for everybody but if Bill has a decent ride for even one race he should take it. A solid run could open up the doors he is looking for….So now you have intrigued me….has someone offered Bill one race? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….if I had the funds I’d race Bill for a whole season even knowing how hard that is to do in today’s racing. There are very few drivers that would take care of my equipment and give me better feedback than him. I have no doubts that he could get in a Hendrick car tomorrow and race with the best of them. So I’m all for Bill on a race track period….s

  45. Cindy, to answer your question: I for one would be very HAPPY to see Bill race and NO it would not matter what race. Of course , as a diehard “Bill Fan” , I always hope for a competitive ride for all of the races for Bill . Thankyou so much Cindy for always keeping all of us “Elliot Family” fans informed. just sayen

  46. Happy, Getting a chance to see Bill back in a car once is better than not at all. Maybe a one race deal turns into something more.

  47. Ooops, Posted that before I meant to, I would hope the car would at least have a chance of running toward the front.

  48. Happy!! if it’s just one hopefully it would be Indy.

  49. If only 1 that would be all right but disappointing. Michigan would be a great venue or Indy.

  50. I would be happy. It wouldn’t matter which race either, because it would be the only one I’d watch this year. I might even come out of fan retirement and attend.

Also, I’d be happy with 1, but would still hope for more. I kinda miss getting excited over NASCAR. I’ve tried to cheer for other drivers, but still isn’t the same.
