Race Time 2012 Program Includes $99 Family Track Pack,
Expanded Merchandise, Fan Events at Stores Across U.S.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Jan. 26, 2012) – Walmart today announced it is expanding its Race Time 2012 program to give fans more accessibility to discounted race tickets, driver appearances and fan events at stores, a greater selection of authentic NASCAR merchandise and a special sponsorship of Bill Elliott at the Coke Zero 400.
Walmart’s Race Time program, launched last year as the largest retail promotion in NASCAR history, gives fans authentic merchandise and fan events at Walmart stores in every NASCAR Sprint Cup series race market. This year, Walmart has more than tripled the number of companies offering displays of authentic merchandise, doubled the number of fan events at stores and increased the race markets where the $99 Walmart Family Track Pack will be offered.
“Our mission is to bring accessibility and affordability to NASCAR fans,” said Rand Waddoups, Senior Director, Entertainment Properties and Brands, Walmart. “We know our customers love NASCAR, so we are going to be a one-stop shop where they can save on discounted family tickets and authentic merchandise, as well as meet some of their favorite drivers.”
The goal for Elliott, who was voted NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver 16 times and is one of NASCAR’s Top 50 Drivers of all time, is to qualify and compete at the Coke Zero 400. He will also visit Walmart stores with his show car before select races.
Steve Phelps, chief marketing officer of NASCAR, said, “Our expanded partnership with Walmart allows us to further engage and excite our fans and bring exceptional value. NASCAR fans can now visit a single destination to stock up on all of their favorite NASCAR merchandise, tickets and race-day snacks.”
Walmart’s Race Time 2012 program specifics include:
- Elliott appearances at Walmart stores throughout the racing season leading up to the Daytona race on July 7, giving fans a chance to meet him in person.
- In participating race markets, Walmart will offer a $99 Walmart Family Track Pack that includes four discounted race tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a race program. The package saves fans more than $100 and will be available online at Walmart.com as well as in Ticketmaster kiosks in selected Walmart stores.
- NASCAR fan events at stores in every race market throughout the season will feature real stock car race displays, special appearances by professional drivers and racing simulator machines.
- Participating stores will offer authentic NASCAR T-shirts, racing flags and other NASCAR branded merchandise, as well as tailgating food and beverages.
The $99 Walmart Family Track Pack will be available for the following races:

Great move Wall mart. Bill Elliott needs more races he is N0 1 in NASCAR you couldn’t have made a better choice. I will shop more Wall mart now
I am so excited that Bill is going to drive, WOW. This really made my day. LUV U Bill!
I’m stoked! Great news! I’ve avoided shopping at Walmart in the past, but I’ll shop there now!
One suggestion to Cindy and Bill….can you give those people at Walmart a better photo of Bill to put on their website?????? The one on the home page is not flattering…especially for a man known for his engaging grin!
I hope this is only the first step in a long relationship!
Abefan I think the picture that you’re referring to is a shot of Bill when he was a Phoenix Racing. It’s just a random shot. Remember the Phoenix days didn’t produce a lot to smile about. Here’s a link to Bill and the #50 car where you will see that million dollar smile (:

AWESOME News!!!! Didn’t renew my tickets for Indy because Bill wasn’t there, but I’d go set on the grass if WalMart puts Bill in.

Shannon, that’s the face Walmart needs to put on their Facebook page. Did you see the one that’s there…or at least it was there yesterday.
Here’s the face I was talking about that they should replace: http://www.walmart.com/cp/NASCAR/1091705
Need to get a HAPPY face on there!
This is totally awesome news. Bill back on the track. He is the best ever! I can do my Bill cheer again!!!!
I am so excited to read this news!! I was not ready to see my hero pushed to the side for young guns. Awesome Bill is back!!
Congrats on your new ride !!! / Thanks for giving all your fans a chance to cheer you on again, and to wear all those AWSOME BILL shirts & hats again. / one of your biggest fans Steve O. / Cumming Ga.
Sure would like to see Bill in more races….
Congratulations to Chase and the BER team on their WIN in the JEGS/CRA Pro Late Model race and on their 6th place finish in the ARCA/CRA Super Late Model race!
Abefan that’s the picture of Bill from the Phoenix Racing days I was talking about. They need to change it. That’s probably all they had at the time the page was put up. Maybe they’ll update it.
Congrats to Chase on winning the Pro race and finishing 6th in the Super race at Speedfest. I’m glad I was there to see Chase in victory lane. Go #9!
Are y’all comming to Montgomery, Alabama for the “Show Me the Money” on March 31st?
If you are I will make planes to be there.
Have I missed Chase’s scedule somewhere. I can’t find it?
Schedule has not been released yet. Will that be the first show me the money race?
I can’t believe that Turner Motorsports dosen’t have anything up yet about Bill and the Walmart deal. Are they missing the boat or what!!
Congratulations Chase on winning the Pro race and finishing 6th in the Super race at Speedfest. Great start to 2012!!!
Acording to Montgomery speedway web site the March 31st race is the first show me the money race in Montgomery. I think it is a 100 lap event.

cindy,
any chances Bill will visit a walmart store in new jersey?
I really don’t care for walmart but I love Bill Elliott. We have been fans since 1986.
So no matter where he goes or wether he wins or not we love you Bill!!!
Can’t wait for the July race. Great move by WAL-MART! If I remember correctly, Bill was going to drive for Turner Motorsports in the Nationwide but had to change his plans after driving for the Wood Brothers. Did anyone else catch the comment by Hendrick about Finch getting engines that are more proven now that Kurt Busch is driving for him??!!
how can stewart put Ruddy in the 10??? You can have Awesome Bill Elliott and you go with a guy thats won 1 Race.
WTF!!
kennyr, I did, made me sick. I knew Bill did not have the equipment but still did very well for them. Another thing getting to me now ( I DO understand, it is business and NASCAR needs her) is Danica. I like her, really do, but I have to brace myself for 24/7 Danica. She gets Hendrick/SHR equipment & crew and DR gets Baldwin equipment, but both are in #10 under Baldwin. I THINK this is stretching things a bit. Oh well, between her & Junior, there will be no conversation about anyone else, especially from DW.
Just glad to know Bill is with Walmart, hoping that he is actually going to help them along so that ultimately Chase has a top sponsor to go with Hendrick. I may be putting the cart before the horse, but hope this is a bigger thing than what meets the eye today.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo Happy GO BILL
Just read on JAYSKI that Frontrow Motorsports is looking for driver for Daytona, wonder if they know Bill’s number.
Cassill will drive for Front Row at Daytona: UPDATE: No Landon Cassill, the Iowa youngster who formerly was a Hendrick Motorsports development driver and made a bunch more fans in 2011 through his near-full season of work in James Finch’s Phoenix Racing Chevrolet, has an opportunity for the Daytona 500 in a Ford. To kick off his own 2012, Cassill will drive a third Front Row Motorsports Ford later this month at Speedweeks. Cassill’s #26 Fusion will have backing from Morristown Driver’s Service, an over-the-road trucking company based in Tennessee. Owner Bob Jenkins’ third car last year wore #55, but Michael Waltrip Racing took that number in conjunction with its sponsor, Aaron’s 55th anniversary, for the 2012 season.(NASCAR.com)(2-2-2012)
UPDATE: The story has been updated: Thursday morning, [Cassill] let Front Row general manager Jerry Freeze know he couldn’t do it. “We gave [Cassill] an out if he got a full-time racing deal,” Freeze said. “And it sounds like he has one. No idea on who we’ll get for now.”(2-2-2012
We all should email Front Row and tell them they should get Bill to drive the #26 car!!!
jfreeze@frontrowmotorsports.com
email him and tell him to please pick Bill Elliott
get bill in that front row car, sounds like cassil is out
I’d like to start with saying that I’m a huge Bill Elliott fan! I’ve been a fan since the early 90′s. I’m a regular on this website I’ve just never posted anything before. The reason for my post today is that I just read on Jayski that Landon Cassil was supposed to drive a 3rd car for Front Row Motorsports at Daytona. This deal has fallen thru as it seems Cassil has found a full time ride. Front Row however still wants to put the third car in the 500. Cindy and Bill please pick up the phone and call them I believe this could be a good ride (for Daytona only) look at what David Gilliland did at superspeedways last year with them. It’s a team car to Gilliland and David Ragan. I’m sure they would be thrilled to have Awesome Bill in the driver’s seat as not only would it give them a great run it would also give them a guaranteed start.
Still Hopefull the 500 just won’t be the same without Bill!!
It’s a thought. Thanks for the info.
Everyone email front row motorsports. We can’t have a 500 with out Bill till Chase takes his spot!
Cindy try to get Bill into the Daytona 500, He is the Man
I like the Front Row folks and want to see them do well, having Bill in the 26 would be a great help.
Here is my e-mail to Jerry Freeze:
Hi Jerry,
I would just like to let you know that the 16 time most popular driver is available to drive the Daytona 500. He would be a great teammate to your other drivers and his legions of fans would cheer the day.
He drove real smart last year in the 500 in the James Finch 09 and finished 11th, got squeezed toward the wall as he was advancing in the last few laps.
With your potent super speedway cars, Bill can work with David & David to possibly get one of the 3 in victory lane.
Ford fans (their are a lot more of them these days) would be cheering the return of Bill for a day in a Ford.
Just imagine…awesome Bill, winner of Daytona 500 in your 26 car..nice thought.
Appreciate your consideration of Bill,
Rick Wood
Its nice to dream . That would be really sweet to see B.Elliott at Daytona in the 500.
Cindy do you think there would be a chance of getting Bill in the #26?
I think Bill and Walmart would make a great team. we know the trend is for the younger guys to fill the seats in the car, but it’s the middle age folks that buy the tickets to watch those races. I would venture to say a good percentag eof Walmart customers would know who Bill is. Those guys that run the marketing department could come up with some great advertisements, I am sure.
I also mailed Mr. Freeze (what an awesome last name – all I can keep thinking of is Batman lol) and told him that I thought Bill would be a great option. I really think handling with the speeds being up is going to be important this year. I’ve always liked Elliott at Daytona when handling was key. I hope this works itself out and it would be great practice for Bill prior to July’s race. Either way I’m just happy knowing he is going to be down their in July but if us fans can help him get a few more races here and there I’m all for it.
Thanks for the info on the 26 car. I just emailed Jerry Freeze with a special request to put Bill in the 26 for the Daytona 500 and any others races that he would like to win. Bill will get it done. Lets be persistent and get Bill in that car. Go Bill.
just dont understand what some of these owners are thinking by not calling Bill Elliott to drive for them??? Makes no sence to me!!
I’ve met Bill several times in the past and the word “AWESOME” fits him to a T. Bill is a gentleman on and off the track. When Bill stopped running full time Nascar lost most of its appeal for me. There was nothing like watching that Coors #9 Thunderbird out there on the track. I wish Bill the best and am looking forward to seeing his son Chase move up to Nascar, too bad it’ll be in a Chevy, but still am looking forward to seeing him run. All the best to you Bill. Your #1 fan always.
Bill and Ford, sure win here
This is awesome omg! I’ve followed bill though all the good times as well as the bad true fan he actually saved my life (long story) honestly he did only one prob with the whole deal he’s not in a FORD! But still great to see him drive thanks
Also just read that JTG wants to add a second team in 2013 and wants to possibly run some races this year with the new team. What better driver to help out and start up a second team than Bill Elliott. Along side of Bobby Labonte the team would get great feedback and run more competetive. Having two past champions would not hurt either haha.
It would be something to see Bill win the 500 in a Ford and then win the 400 in a Chevy. After FORD declined Chase 3 times and he is winning in s CHEVY now i think they have there a%% on there shoulder’s.FORD would proably shoot the idea of Front Row putting Bill in the car down. (That’s just my opinion) I wonder who ever it was that declined Chase still has there job?
