  1. Cindy and Bill I know that Chase is a blessing from God, and both of y’all are very, very proud of him…Chase seems to be the TOTAL PACKAGE when it comes to racing and NASCAR…Chase your daddy was a great NASCAR ambassador and DRIVER, he was always a gentleman of class and dignity carry on the family tradition young man and you will go far. Go Bill and Chase!!!

  2. hopefully he’ll be as good as you are

  3. Chase has the greatest racing mentor. Chase your dad & uncles did it the right way. Follow their lead and you can’t miss. Remember to have good people setting up your car, and you’ll be good to go!

  4. Bill is and will always be #1 of all NASCAR drivers in my opinion and Chase will follow I am sure

  5. Hate to say this but the number one Nascar driver ever in my opinion will soon be pushed to second by his son CHASE ELLIOTT.

  6. YOU’VE GOT SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL CHASE, BUT WITH YOU DAD AS AN EXAMPLE I’M SURE YOU CAN CARRY YOUR OWN. LOTS OF LUCK IN YOUR CAREER AND YOUR FATHER WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU UP IN THE CUP.

  7. Awesome Bill is the man. I lived and died with every lap he drove and Chase can do it too.

  8. I find that hard to believe-were you at Bristol last night?

  9. Bill is Bill, all things considered, I feel the best in NASCAR so far. Chase will be great as well, he sure seems to be mature beyond his years. If Chase can remain in competitive rides his whole career he can surpass records his Dad has accomplished. Just imagine if Bill was in a competitive or top team all his career? There were more gaps of good rides unfortunately. As Mark Martin just said a few weeks ago, he has been fortunate to always be in strong rides. Bill cannot say that…but Bill’s record and the man he is, makes him the best ever!

  10. What happened at Bristol? The driver that spun Chase when Chase was in the lead restarted like 15th and chase went to the back. What was up with that? What is the rule on that sort of thing?
I was watching on speed-51 as they texted it in. When will the Bristol race air on speed?

  11. I think awesome Bill should be getting a call from Tony anytime now if its his call. Not sure what kind of a deal he has with Baldwin racing.

  12. Cindy I have a couple of questions. What divisions is Chase going to be in for most popular driver this year? Also do you know when they are going to start? Would love to have a heads up when that might be.

  13. Hey Cindy, whose butt are you chewing there? LOL. I asked Dale and Shannon and they didn’t know so the curiosity has about killed me for the last couple of days.

On another note Chase you are the man. Great piece of driving after getting spun. I wasn’t there but I heard about it.

  14. I was @ the bristol race! Chase was the class of the field! That #10 car sure messed it up for Chase. I thought he still had a shot after the 1st wreck but after the 2nd one i thought he was done, but he still drove his car to a top 10 finish. Chase is the real deal!! his dad has to be very proud and honored to have such a pleasure as Chase!!!

  15. Cindy, who was your comment to?

  16. Im so glad to know that I got someone to pull for in the future like Chase. Ya know there are just so few southern boys in racing nowadays since its become so big. I could be wrong feelin this way, but I miss Awesome Bill being out there on Sunday so bad. I know Chase will be my driver of the future, its just tough to replace my hero with anyone…Miss Ya Awesome Bill Elliott!!

Hate to say this but the number one Nascar driver ever in my opinion will soon be pushed to second by his son CHASE ELLIOTT.

  18. I guess you see that I wasn’t. Now that you see my comment was to CNDBILLFAN above. He has always been such a strong supporter of Bill. I was just shocked to read that he said he was going to move Chase up to first. It was a light hearted comment that everyone took the wrong way. HAHA!

  19. I am not sure what he will be eligible for, it depends on the rules. If he runs enough events in ARCA he may be eligible in that division. He will certainly be eligible in K&N East again. And then if CRA runs a MPD then that division and Speed51 always has a MPD voting so those are a few to watch for….

  20. Neither went to the back, they both started where they fell back into line after they got back going.

  21. Cindy wherever he is eligible please let us know soon so we can start voting…and Bill will always be number 1… ALWAYS

  22. Number one driver( Bill ) soon to be pushed back to second by his son.
Major compliments to both of these fine men.
I after 25 years gave up my season tickets to MIS, but will be going back once Chase gets there.
I miss the days when that # 9 Coors/Melling Ford owned that track, just seeing that car out front and pulling away made the dozens of trips from Canada worth it that much more.

Awesome Bill will always be ny favourite followed by Alan Kulwicki and Chase Elliott

  23. I missed all this Bristol action, where was I? Damn memory. Sounds like Chase is very cool under pressure and does not let adversity get him down. Great Job Chase!!! Your parents fans and Dad’s fans are so proud of you.
I wish I could still see Bill racing every week, great to know you are just around the corner. Wish I lived closer to the action, I miss too much up North here:)

  24. In my personal opinion Chase is going to be one of the best drivers of all time, but no one including Chase will ever replace Bill Elliott! Bill is his own man and Chase will be his own man. I don’t think any long time Elliott fan will compare the two. Two different people and two totally different times in racing. They will each be know for their own personal talents and accomplishments. I would bet that Bill and Chase either one won’t be crowing about it at the supper table!

  25. Cindy, please tell Bill this funny one, my Daughter is in college, just got home and told me dream she had. “I dreamt dad that you were a race car driver, you beat Bill to the line for the win. You got out of the car and cried to Bill that you were sorry for beating him. You were also in the #9 and Bill was not happy about that. My grandkids would not get off the track at the start of the race so they and the whole family were asked to leave and none of us saw you win”
I told her best dream I ever heard of, sorry Bill, to beat you, but I am 2 years younger!!!

  26. Great Job Chase winning at Mobile!!!

  27. Awesome Chase taking the weekend sweep!!! 5 Flags win, great photo of your team, You, dad and the trophy. Just need your Mom there too!
Cannot wait to see you race in person.

  28. Well someone had to take the photo so that would be Mom.

  29. Do y’all remember this car? I finley found a picture of it. #89 BER McRib driven by Dennis Setizer.
    http://nessart.8m.com/ribwatch.htm

  30. Wow! Oldies

  31. I have a 1/64 diecast of the 89 McRib car.

  32. Cindy when will they make a diecast for Chase?

  33. idk. Maybe this year. It just depends. We will have to see how the season goes.

  34. Cindy. Anything in the work’s for Bill? Finger’s are crossed we will get to see him in something before July!

  35. nothing.

  36. Well Maybe something will come along for Bill before July. Lets all hope and Pray!

  37. Dang! Some much for rumors. Should have known better than to even listen and
    get wound up about it

  38. Nascar is in alot of ways really messed up these days. The die hard fans have either turned away, retired from watching or simply can not connect with the modern day drivers.

I’m willing to bet if Nascar promoted a race or races with past stars of the sport the grandstands would be packed. Could you imagine, Rudd, Elliott and Wallace duking it out for the lead at Darlington.

The true fans of the sport today don’t connect with the drivers of today. I have a hard time relating to some of these drivers when I can’t even imagine them changing the spark plugs on their car, let alone even know what a spark plug is and its role in the engine.

Cut the costs and bring back the true racers, not the corporate pretty boys.

  39. Bill needs to get back in there and take his spot back from Tony Stewert on the all-time wins list. Tony just passed him but I know if Bill had raced full-time all these years he would have an even more impressive record. But we know Bill is the best. Can’t wait ’til July.

  40. Everyone start voting for Bill and vote often Let’s get him in the show
He might win everyone needs to put for a really good effort to get him in the All Star Race
    VOTE please

  41. Star voting for Bill

  42. Start voting for Bill

  43. The big stars today, Gordon, Johnson,Stewart have had top equipment all their years and most likely will in the future. They start younger, have more years. Bill had times without best equipment in the prime of his career. I am not apologizing, just saying imagine how much better his fantastic stats would be if he had great equipment all along. Look at Mark Martin, he says he has been very fortunate to always have had great equipment. When I compare the greats with Bill, times in good equipment, etc.. He is the best out there.
I am sure none of us doubt that he could still win races and a championship today in any situation of the top drivers today. I just wish he had a chance, now, to show the world that over 55′s still have what it takes.
I also feel it would be great for the sport. He has the desire, too bad no one is willing to give a chance to him. But, my job with a major corporation, same thing, younger is better…but have us older, experienced people pull them out of troubles.
What a world we live in today, I looked up to the experienced, not like people today.
Bill, I look forward to seeing you at Daytona, hope you guys are working on the car now. Cindy, is Bill in contact with Turner & Wal Mart and working on this deal?
    thanks

  44. If Bill was in a a top qaulity ride such as Hendricks,Roush,Gibbs,Childress etc. he would have definately had alot more wins. He’s proven that, when he went winless from 1995 to 2000 then drove for Evernham and started winning again. That is part of what made Bill the Awesome Bill the person his fans have come to admire and appreciate.Bill thanks for the ride its been great. You helped create a bond with my father and I that I will cherish forever.I still hope that you have’nt seen your last win.I lost my father last july and look forward to getting to see you race this july.I have a new grand son now and who knows maybe Chase will help create a bond between my grandson and I.

  45. You can’t compare the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s with todays racing. It’s two different era’s of racing. From the mid 90′s to now we have Mega teams with numerous engineers and a four car teams (more before they limited them) with 400 people working for them. Oh and don’t forget the so called “Alliances”. In the 80′s when Bill was in his prime he might have had 30 employees total, and it wasn’t just him, no one had a ton of help. The mega teams in the 80′s had 2 cars and 60 people working for them. Big money stepped in and changed the sport for ever. And as far as I am concerned, probably not for the good or you wouldn’t see the stands half empty now.

You can’t look at the two era’s and compare the wins, totally different situations, times, and for that matter places. Back in the 70′s and 80′s you worked your way into a good ride by running in the Sprotsman devision, now know as Nationwide. But you would never saw a Cup driver run in the Sportsman division. It was a gentleman’s aggrement, once you steped up into the next series you didn’t run in a lower series unless you were messing around with your dirt car for fun. You had your series and they had theirs. Example, we all know a certain driver who up until this year ran Cup, Nationwide and Trucks with high dollar equipment and brags about having 100 wins between the three. Yes, he is very good driver, but the playing ground is not quite fair. To me it’s like taking candy from a baby and it’s wrong, but again that falls back to all the money and sponsors. His cup wins alone are not that impressive considering the equipment he has been in, but then you have to have brains too, but that’s another story.

Now people who are talented in the younger ranks sit down in a top dollar car their first Cup race, totally different. I’m not saying it’s wrong to do so now days, I hope Chase does the same thing, all I saying is you can’t compare the different era’s of racing, or compare how many wins a driver has won. It all depends on when he got his wins.

It’s just like the late 50′s and 60′s, How do you think that Richard Petty won 200 races. Back then NASCAR ran 70 races a year on asphalt, and dirt, two or three days a week. Petty had the hemi and was a couple of steps ahead of everyone until David Pearson, Allison and some of the other teams caught up in the late 60′s and early 70′s. Look back in the record books, Petty would sometimes win 3 races a week. You can’t compare that to Bill’s era of racing, or todays. Don’t get me wrong, Petty got the name “King” for a reason, he was good! Times change and you have to look at the talent and careers during those seperate times in different eras, and different team situations.

One man’s opinion from watching NASCAR for over the last 40 years. Take it or leave it, or better yet study the record books and you will see the trends yourself.

  46. I wonder if Tony and the Haas gang put any money back to compensate what they’ve lost and are gonna keep losing. They should have put Bill in that car for most of the races. I thought Tony might have been smarter than this but obviously that ain’t the case. I hope somewhere that a team owner will wise up and put Bill Elliott in a GREAT race car.

  47. I think those are some great points. People soon forget this man took on a single car team in 1995 and finished 8th in the points. Would have finished somewhere around there or better in 1996 without the accident that took him out and was back to form in 1997 finishing 8th. I just think the “team concept” caught up with him in the late 90′s. At that he still had some decent runs. During those years he didn’t have Hendrick quality equipment but he still gave them all he wanted. Such as

-in 1995 coming from 43rd twice on plate tracks to finish 10th and 5th at Daytona and Talladega. In the Daytona race he came from 43rd to 3rd.

-in 1997 when his title of the only Million Dollar winner was up for grabs he challenged Jeff Gordon all day long at Darlington.

-In 1997 at Michigan he finished 2nd after dominating most of the day.

-In 1997 he gave them all they wanted at Daytona and by far had the best car that day. Without a caution to help Hendrick out Bill would have at least finished second in the 500 if not first. He was better than Gordon. He was also the best car later that year in the Pepsi 400 before he had problems.

-In 1999 after a real tough season Bill went to Loudon NH and came up from 38th I believe and finished in the top 5.

    - I saw him personally live have solid finishes at Martinsville, Charlotte and Rockingham during that stretch.

-In 2000 he won his first race during the Duel Race, finished 3rd at Daytona, dominated the Pepsi 400 prior to Mike Spinner taking him out, Won the first two segments of that years Winston.

-this doesn’t include all the times he had one of the best cards but had equipment failure or got wrecked. I think this shows how good Bill was at prepping a race car when he first started running his own teams. It probably got very difficult to compete with the multiple input from multiple drivers.

All in all I think Bill is clearly on the top 5 drivers of all time list if you look at pure talent. I would put him first but I’m biased but he is there no doubt about it.

  48. Now sure would be a perfect time for Mr Bill to get in the 10 car. Some great tracks for
ABE coming up! Anybody know if the 10 gets the same stuff SH runs when Danicas not in the car?

Is there any truth to BK racing talking to Mr Bill about there stuff Ms Cindy? Same
guy that i thought had some know, told me that again this weekend at the track.

  49. I wonder if Wal Mart will do any more races later in the year if the July race goes well? Wouldn’t that be great if they stuck with Bill? I don’t know if they plan on eventually sponsoring a team full-time or just occasionally. Can’t wait to find out what happens in July and afterwards.

  50. Ben Kennedy Racing?
